What is sent when you ask for a reading

• The photograph you took, or the passage you highlighted in it.
• The language you have chosen to have things explained in.
• A language hint derived from your device's language settings.

The request travels over HTTPS to our gateway, which passes it to DeepSeek to identify the language and produce the lesson. The gateway does not write your image to persistent storage; it holds it only for as long as the request takes.

Camera and photo library

Rosetta asks for the camera only when you take a picture inside the app, and for the photo library only when you pick an existing picture. If you never use one of them, that permission is never requested.

The app does not browse your library in the background or read photographs you did not choose.

相机与相册

只有当你在应用里拍照时，碑语才会请求相机权限；只有当你选择已有照片时，才会请求相册权限。你不使用某项功能，对应权限就不会被请求。

Things Rosetta does NOT do

• No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting to third parties.
• No advertising and no access to the advertising identifier.
• No selling or sharing of your data.
• No microphone, location, contacts or calendar access.
• No use of your photographs to train models.

Children

Rosetta has no advertising, no chat and no community features, and collects no data for profiling. Because it explains whatever writing is placed in front of it, the text it returns is only as suitable as the text you photograph.
