Overview

Readless imports your PDF and EPUB files locally and reads them aloud. The core experience does not require an account or sign-in.

Imported books stay on your device. Cloud requests happen only when you explicitly trigger premium-voice synthesis on a specific chapter.

Data stored locally

What the app sends to our server

When you tap a chapter's premium-voice button, that single chapter's text is sent over HTTPS to our backend at api.birony.app, which forwards it to a third-party speech-synthesis provider to generate audio. The text is not stored after synthesis.

Each request carries an iOS-issued per-vendor device identifier (Apple's identifierForVendor) so we can match the request to the right credit balance.

当你点击某一章的高级语音按钮时，那一章的文本会通过 HTTPS 发送到我们的后端 api.birony.app，由它再转发给第三方语音合成服务生成音频。合成完成后文本不会被存档。

每次请求会携带 iOS 为本应用生成的设备标识（Apple identifierForVendor），用于关联到你这一台设备的额度账户。

Quota records

For each device that has used premium voice we keep a small server-side row recording the running character balance, the cumulative purchased / consumed totals, and a ledger of recent credits and debits. This record is necessary to enforce the credits you bought and to surface the usage history shown inside the app.

Server access logs are kept for fourteen days for diagnostics and abuse mitigation; quota records persist until the device has been inactive for thirty days or you ask us to delete them.

额度记录

每一台用过高级语音的设备，我们都在服务端保留一条小记录：当前剩余字符、累计已购 / 已用、以及最近一段时间的扣减与充值流水。这条记录是用来兑现你购买的额度，并支撑应用内的用量明细展示。

服务器访问日志保留 14 天，用于故障排查与防滥用；额度记录在设备 30 天未活跃前会保留，你也可以联系我们删除。

What we do not collect

  • Name, email, phone number, mailing address
  • Contacts, photos, microphone, camera
  • Precise or approximate location
  • The general contents of your imported library (only the chapter text you actively send to premium)
  • Advertising identifiers; the app does not embed analytics, ads, or tracking SDKs of any kind

不收集的内容

  • 姓名、邮箱、电话、地址
  • 通讯录、相册、麦克风、相机
  • 精确或近似地理位置
  • 你导入的书的整体内容（仅你主动用高级语音那一章的文本）
  • 广告标识符；App 不嵌入任何统计、广告或追踪 SDK

Third parties

Premium-voice synthesis is performed by an upstream speech provider that we route requests through. The provider receives only the chapter text and the synthesis parameters you selected; we do not share the device identifier or any other Readless-side information with it.

In-app purchases go through Apple's App Store. Apple handles billing; we only read the resulting receipt to credit characters and to honor "Restore Purchases."

The backend is hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

高级语音的合成由我们对接的语音服务上游来完成。上游只会拿到那一章的文本和你选择的合成参数；设备标识或 Readless 这边的其他信息不会被分享给它。

内购通过 Apple App Store。Apple 负责账单流程；我们仅根据收据为你增补字符额度并支撑「恢复购买」。

后端托管于 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure。

Your choices

Premium-voice synthesis is opt-in per chapter. You can use the app indefinitely with only the offline iOS system voice.

To see your usage ledger, open Settings → 高级语音 → Pro 管理 → 用量明细 in the app.

To request deletion of your quota record and any cached audio attributed to your device, write to vborisw@gmail.com from the address you're comfortable using and include your in-app device identifier.

你可以选择

高级语音是按章节主动选择的。完全只用免费的 iOS 系统语音也能长期使用本应用。

如需删除你这台设备的额度记录和相关音频缓存，请用你愿意使用的邮箱发邮件到 vborisw@gmail.com，并附上应用内显示的设备标识。

Children

Readless is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Imported book content remains under the user's control.

未成年人

Readless 并未针对 13 岁以下儿童，也不会主动收集该年龄段用户的信息。导入的书的内容由用户自行控制。

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced inside the app and reflected in the date at the top of this page.
